Bioethanol
Bioethanol is a renewable fuel made from glucose, cellulose and other sugars: direct fermentation of sugars with micro-organisms such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Zymomonas mobilis, or hydrolysis of cellulose (wood, fruit peel, seed husks) to glucose followed by fermentation. It is used as a fuel and in the plastics and coatings industries.

Green ammonia
Green ammonia is made from hydrogen produced by electrolysing water with renewable electricity, plus nitrogen from the air, without the greenhouse-gas emissions of the conventional natural-gas Haber–Bosch route. Uses: nitrogen fertilizers, fuel for power plants and ships, and feedstock for urea, ammonium nitrate, amines and nitriles. Routes: water electrolysis + Haber–Bosch, solid-oxide process, direct nitrate/nitrite electrolysis, and new catalysts working at lower temperature and pressure.

Solar
Solar power technology comprises photovoltaic panels, solar thermal panels and sun-tracking systems. The trend is towards higher panel efficiency and life, thin and transparent panels, dynamic trackers and better storage for night-time use.
